Gregory Mark Kovacs (December 16, 1968 – November 22, 2013) was a Canadian IFBB professional bodybuilder. According to Canadian bodybuilding publication, Muscle Insider, Kovacs retired from competitive bodybuilding in 2005 to start his own business and coach competitive athletes.

Greg Mark Kovacs was a professional Canadian IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness) bodybuilder. He was born in 1968 and studied electrical engineering for a year before quitting to concentrate on bodybuilding. During his prime, Kovacs had an off-season weight of a whopping 420 lbs and a contest weight of about 330 lbs.

“During the late ‘90s, Greg Kovacs dominated the size and strength side of pro bodybuilding. With an off-season weight of 420 pounds, Greg towered over his competition, packing more mass on his frame than anyone in the history of bodybuilding. Greg’s arms measured over 25 inches, his chest 70 inches, and his legs a colossal 35 inches.

The passing of Greg Kovacs is a huge loss to the bodybuilding community. This gentle giant suffered a heart attack this past November, although the official cause of death was listed as organ failure. Two weeks prior to Greg’s death, he had been suffering from water retention issues, and he had recently undergone mitral valve surgery.
